Clearwater Beach in Focus
The Tampa Bay Beaches is a gulfside strip on the west coast of Florida, comprising multiple municipalities which attract visitors every year. We took a closer look at each of these communities to provide some background and explain the activities you can do while visiting our beaches. Now let’s take a closer look at Clearwater Beach.
MEET THE BEACH: Clearwater Beach
Previously known as “Clear Water Harbor” until 1906, this beach is known for -- you guessed it-- the clear water. Clearwater Beach was originally settled by colonists in the 1830’s before becoming known as a resort community in the 1890’s. The white sand beaches now spread for 2.5 miles along the Gulf. Having been named one of the best beaches in the United States numerous times, there are plenty of reasons for people of all ages to enjoy the shopping, restaurants and activities that make up this beautiful beach community.
