The Tampa Bay Beaches is a gulfside strip on the west coast of Florida, comprising multiple municipalities which attract visitors every year. We took a closer look at each of these communities to provide some background and explain the activities you can do while visiting our beaches. Now let’s take a closer look at Madeira Beach and the infamous John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk.

MEET THE BEACH: Madeira Beach

The City of Madeira Beach is beloved by locals and visitors alike. The friendly, laid-back atmosphere is the reason many vacationers make it their permanent home away from home. An ideal spot for the whole family, Madeira Beach has everything you need to have the perfect beach vacation. This two mile long stretch of beaches offers a multitude of beach accesses, local restaurants and waterholes, premier hotels and shopping as well an activity for every type of adventure seeker.

A visit to Madeira Beach is not complete without exploring the Historic John's Pass Village & Boardwalk. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County’s #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village. You can take a walk along the boardwalk to take in the views and visit all the local businesses that make this area famous.

No matter which Madeira Beach Access you end up at, there is sure to be a place to take a seat and grab a bite to eat. The two main beaches Archibald Memorial Beach Park and John's Pass Park offer “wooden walkovers, beach chair rentals, public restrooms, outdoor shower areas, covered picnic areas, and a place to grab a meal or pick up a beverage”. Enjoy your day in the sun surrounded by everything you need. 

EAT, DRINK, SHOP AND EXPLORE IN JOHN’S PASS

John’s Pass is home to over 100 shops and restaurants, which means there is bound to be a place that will peak your interest. Spend the day leisurely walking through the pass as you pop in and out of quirky boutique shops and specialty stores. Check out the variety of local bars and breweries for a refreshing pick me up. 

Stop for lunch and have an amazing meal at any of the local restaurants. Be sure to try a fresh catch; As Madeira Beach is known as the “Grouper Capital of the World”. Once a year you can also join the locals at the John’s Pass Seafood Festival.

AN ACTIVITY FOR EVERYONE

Whether you're spending the day with your family, a special someone or a group of friends Madeira Beach will have an activity for you. Take the kids on hand on trips to get to know Florida’s natural environment. There are a variety of activities where you can search for shells, watch dolphins, play with pirates or even kiss a gator!

Take your partner or your favorite friends on an adventure to take in the views or enjoy a day with the local fishing fleets, dolphin watching, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing. In the evening you can even catch a sunset cruise or enjoy the active nightlife.
