South Pasadena in Focus

The Tampa Bay Beaches is a gulfside strip on the west coast of Florida, comprising multiple municipalities which attract visitors every year. South Pasadena is “Our Place in the Sun” right before St. Pete Beach. Let’s take a closer look at the history of this city and some safe activities to do on your stay.

In between the coastal neighborhoods of Gulfport and St. Pete Beach lies the quaint, residential community of South Pasadena. The City of South Pasadena was incorporated on July 1, 1955 with 150 residents, one policeman and a meeting hall. It remains a small community to this day with an approximate population of 5,000 residents.

Businesses, residents and elected officials work hard to make locals and visitors feel welcome in this small town. It’s the perfect place to stop in on your way to the beach or visit for some shopping and great food. “Whether you're taking a stroll through a scenic waterfront park or grabbing a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants, South Pasadena is sure to charm you.”

ACTIVITIES: Here’s what to do

South Pasadena offers a variety of locally owned businesses and safe outdoor activities to experience. Businesses are making sure that they are doing everything they can to not only make sure customers are safe, but make sure that visitors feel right at home in this quant community.

Just across the bridge from St. Pete Beach lies South Pasadena. Before you enjoy your day in the sun, this community is a great place to stop for a bite to eat, a cup of coffee or even a sweet dessert. This quiet city offers local owned options for you to get any of your last minute supplies before hitting the beach.

Would you rather be on the water? Book a trip to ride the waves and see the dolphins or schedule a sunset dinner cruise to spend some quality time with your loved ones.

South Pasadena does not lack in options to shop, sip and dine. There are clusters of shopping centers to browse around, which offer excellent options to grab a snack or midday pick me up. You can stop to sip on a freshly brewed coffee or partake in a local wine tasting. Many restaurants here are family run and will make sure you feel at home during your dining experience.

Even locals may forget about the waterfront parks that South Pasadena offers. Whether you're looking for a quaint stroll along the water, to bring your kids to the playground or to get in a quick workout at an outdoor fitness zone, there is a South Pasadena park for you. A perfect day outdoors should include a park picnic. Grab a meal to-go from one of the local restaurants, pack it up with your favorite beverage and pick your spot to sit, enjoy the fresh air and the natural beauty of Pinellas County.
