Treasure Island in Focus

2020 has introduced a wide variety of challenges for everyone, but as the country is opening back up, many are looking for safe activities to do on their vacation. The Tampa Bay Beaches is a gulfside strip on the west coast of Florida, comprising multiple municipalities which attract visitors every year. Treasure Island is a quant island with nothing but beautiful beaches and waterfront views.

MEET THE BEACH: Treasure Island

Treasure Island was one of the four original keys on the Tampa Bay Beaches, before it became a gulfside cluster of beach communities. It’s name originated from “an early hotel owner who buried and then "discovered" a couple of wooden chests on the beach” these were said to be filled with treasure. The name Treasure Island has since stuck making it a whimsical place to live and vacation.

Each Treasure Island beach, Sunset Beach, Mid-Island Beach and Sunshine Beach has their own character and appeal. Sunset Beach brings an old Florida feel to the island with a half-mile boardwalk, small beach accesses and staple restaurants. This is a popular place for locals to take a stroll or throw out a line. Mid-Island Beach brings the family appeal to the island with it’s Treasure Island Water Slide, Beach Snack Shack and a line of places to sit poolside. Sunshine Beach is right across the bridge from John’s Pass and where you can set up your chair and watch the boats come in.
