Two major studies on the future of tourism taxes and other funding sources have recently been completed and offer invaluable insights and recommendations for fresh thinking in tourism taxes and funding options for DMOs. “Funding Futures” was a major North American study that was completed in parallel with the comprehensive European study, “Taxing Tourism.” Both studies include an exhaustive analysis of current and potential new funding sources in addition to results from major surveys of more than 180 DMOs across North America and Europe.
