Road trips are a central part of the return and recovery of travel across the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a free resource to all DMOs, Longwoods International and Miles Partnership have updated the largest ever research study of U.S. Road Trips in the age of COVID-19. Drawing on 23+ years of research on U.S. road trip behavior and updated with specific COVID-19 related research, this webinar and the supporting research summary will provide essential insights for planning and marketing road trip experiences today and in the future. Amir Eylon of Longwoods International will highlight the latest findings from the 2020 research and Chris Adams of Miles Partnership will summarize five specific recommendations for DMOs from the research and examples of innovative road trips marketing from around the world. The webinar will also feature a DMO panel discussion with two U.S. state tourism leaders: Liz Fitzsimmons, Managing Director of the Maryland Department of Tourism, and Mike Mangeot, Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Tourism. They will share case studies from their states and provide insights on what they have learned marketing road trips in today’s new normal.
