About Us

Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Inc. (KPB) was founded in 1992 as a volunteer-based, 501(c)3 environmental nonprofit. As Pinellas County's local Keep America Beautiful affiliate, our mission is to conserve and beautify the natural environment by means of community engagement and education. We accomplish our mission by concentrating on four environmental focal areas: litter prevention, waste reduction, conservation, and beautification/community greening.

Since inception, KPB has successfully demonstrated the ability to organize volunteers, motivating thousands annually to clean up, reduce waste, beautify, and improve their neighborhoods, thereby creating healthier, safer, and more livable community environments. Our programs are designed to educate, engage, and empower citizens in the creation of a cleaner, greener, healthier, and more beautiful community. We work with governments, businesses, schools, fellow nonprofits, and neighborhood organizations to tackle tough issues such as illegal dumping, roadway litter, pollution, urban runoff, and fulfilling the need for more healthy green spaces. Our efforts bridge the gap between humanity and its surrounding environment to raise awareness on topics such as coastal conservation and how personal actions can directly impact the health of Tampa Bay waters. KPB has over 30 years of experience planning events and activating volunteers within the community. Each year, we work with over 20,000 volunteers and partners to address environmental issues impacting the Pinellas County region. We accomplish this through service projects (i.e. cleanups, invasive species removal, Adopt-A programs, and plantings of native landscaping and community gardens) and educational programming (i.e. educational presentations/workshops, outreach events, etc.). These programs engage citizens of all ages ranging from toddlers to seniors, all ethnic backgrounds and any socioeconomic status throughout Pinellas County. The primary goal of our efforts is to create a culture of environmentally responsible citizens to help protect and preserve the health of our environment for generations to come. We have experience working with many Pinellas County communities and have seen firsthand the success of the community empowerment model.
